Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is set to become the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Acting National Chairman. Due to the crisis in the party in many states and even at the national level, President Bola Tinubu is looking for a competent, experienced hand to reorganise the party, according to an impeccable source in the seat of power who does not want his name in print.
The trio of Imo State Governor, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Kwara State Governor Abdulraham Abdulrasaq, and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun were sent to Ganduje. According to reports, the former Governor agreed to work in the best interests of the party and the country.
According to reports , three Governors and Mr. Ganduje are currently meeting with the President at Aso Villa to finalise the discussion. “The President had listed Ganduje as one of the nominees for a ministerial appointment but because of his trust and confidence in the former governor, President Tinubu has to charge his mind although, the President also asked him (Ganduje) to nominate another person from Kano for the ministerial job. I can confirm to you that three serving governors of APC, including Imo and Kwara governors led the former governor Ganduje to a meeting with the President on Wednesday afternoon. The purpose of that meeting is for President Tinubu to brief Ganduje directly about the new assignment.”
