In response to an erroneous report by the online sports platform www.footballnigeria.com.ng, Buruj Football Club has clarified that its talented midfielder, Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, participated in the National League in 2023, not 2013 as stated.
The correction was issued in a statement signed by the CEO of Buruj Football Club, Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, who emphasized the impossibility of Raheem’s involvement in the 2013 league as he was born in 2010.
“Our attention has been drawn to a news story published by www.footballnigeria.com.ng erroneously stating that our player, Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, played in the National League in 2013 when he was only three years old,” the statement read.
“For the record, Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, who is also my son, was born on May 13, 2010. He attended Goshen International School before joining Buruj Football Academy, where his football journey truly began.”
Raheem, a versatile talent excelling both as an attacking and defensive midfielder, has gained recognition for his skill and determination on the field. In 2023, his outstanding performances in the National League caught the attention of scouts, culminating in his selection for the final phase of the Talent Development Scheme in Abuja, organized by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This clarification not only sets the record straight but also highlights Raheem Salaudeen’s remarkable rise in Nigerian football, showcasing his potential as one of the country’s promising young talents. Buruj Football Club expressed their pride in his progress and commitment to nurturing more players for national and international success.
The club urged media platforms to verify information before publication to avoid misleading the public and potentially affecting the reputation of players and organizations.
