The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has  appeared before the ad-hoc committee of the House of Representatives investigating scarcity of new naira notes.

He later declared that commercial banks have been mandated to continuously receive old naira notes beyond February 17 earlier announced by the Central Bank.
