Akwa United’s talented attacking midfielder, Paulinus Okon, has etched his name in the history books, not just for his exploits on the football pitch but also for his academic excellence. Okon has become the first student to graduate with a First-Class Honours in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Uyo.

The exceptional feat was unveiled during the institution’s combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies in Uyo, where Paulinus graduated with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.50. This remarkable academic achievement earned him the prestigious title of the 2021/2022 Best Graduating Student in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.

Paulinus’ success is a testament to his resilience, dedication, and ability to excel in both academics and athletics. Balancing the rigorous demands of professional football with the intense workload of an engineering program, he has shattered stereotypes and emerged as an inspiring figure for young athletes aspiring to achieve greatness on and off the field.

This milestone underscores the growing trend of sports professionals embracing education to enhance their impact in society. Okon’s journey serves as a shining example of how discipline and focus can lead to success in multiple spheres, proving that academic brilliance and sporting excellence can coexist.

The convocation ceremony also marked a celebration of hard work and innovation in the engineering field, with Paulinus’ accomplishment standing out as a symbol of hope and motivation for students across Nigeria. As he continues his journey with Akwa United, his academic triumph will undoubtedly remain a source of pride and inspiration for the club, the university, and the nation at large.

Paulinus Okon’s story is not just one of personal achievement but a clarion call for young Nigerians to pursue their dreams with passion, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of life.
