…N950 Million traced to Two Past Governors

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it had traced some money out of the N23 Billion alledgedly disbursed by Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Minister of Petroleum Resources to some past governors.

According to the financial crimes agency, N500 Million was traced to Idris Wada, the immediate past governor of Kogi State, while another sum of N450 Million has been traced to Sani Danladi, a former acting governor of Taraba state.

The money was allegedly disbursed through the then Director of Finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Senator Nenadi Usman.

The spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Wada was currently being detained for questioning over the sum of money.

Mr. Wilson said, “Yes, he was invited by the EFCC over N500m Diezani money. He is still in our custody.”

There are indications that more PDP bigwigs may be invited for questioning soon by the EFCC over the N23 Billion disbursement.
