The Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) has suspended some of its bigwigs. One of those suspended by party is Chief Raymond Dokpesi the owner of DAAR Communications.
The suspension which was announced on Tuesday in Abuja by the party also involves Dan Iwuayanwu and Mainasara Ilo.
According to the National Secretary of APDA, Dr Emeka Okengwu, the trio were suspended for anti-party activities. They are accused of unlawful gathering and violating the provisions of APDA’s constitution by holding an illegal National Executive Council Meeting.
Chief Dokpesi is said to have on the 15th of July written a letter directly to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), informing the body of a proposed APDA where he appended his signature as chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees.
Okengwu said that fortunately INEC responded by telling him to route his letter through the National Chairman of the party because the constitution of the party does not allow it to have a BOT until after five years.
The National Secretary in announcing the suspension further said “In their desperation to factionalize the party and move to PDP they went ahead to make this announcement constituting an illegal Board of Trustee and sacking of National Working Committee. Due to this indiscipline of these members, the NWC met at an emergency meeting today and suspended them and constituted a Disciplinary committee to sanction them for bringing the party to disrepute.”
