The Lagos State Government has expressed its gratitude to the protesters in Lagos for their peaceful conduct and for concluding their demonstration following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s address earlier today.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the protest leaders, stating, “Your decision to end the protest today is a clear indication that you believe your voices have been heard by the government. What you have done is not only commendable but reflects a high level of civility.”
In a demonstration of the Lagos State Government’s dedication to ongoing dialogue with the youth, Governor Sanwo-Olu has mandated that, despite the end of the protest, the previously initiated dialogue and engagements should continue.
To facilitate this, the Governor has instructed the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the Ministry of Information and Strategy, and the Office of Civic Engagement to establish expanded communication channels with various stakeholders, including the protest leaders.

Governor Sanwo-Olu has also issued a reminder for vigilance among citizens, warning against divisive elements who may attempt to spread misinformation through various channels. He urged Lagosians to remain steadfast against any attempts at incitement and to reject fear and rumors.
The Governor praised Lagosians for their rejection of chaos and commitment to peace, extending his appreciation to all security agencies, including the Police Command, Department of State Services, the military, Civil Defence, and Neighborhood Watch for their professional conduct.
He also highlighted the significant contributions of traditional rulers, Civil Society Organizations, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, and Student Leaders in maintaining peace in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reassured Lagosians to carry on with their daily activities without fear, emphasizing that peace and stability are paramount.
