The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has officially announced the sighting of the moon, marking the end of Ramadan and the commencement of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations across the country.

In a statement released from the Sultan’s Palace in Sokoto, he confirmed that credible moon sighting reports had been received from various parts of the country, signifying the conclusion of the holy month of fasting.
