In a significant political development, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC). This move marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Edo State and has garnered widespread attention across the country.
Philip Shaibu, who was recently reinstated as the Deputy Governor following a period of political turbulence, announced his decision to rejoin the APC during a meeting to inaugurate the National Working Committee for the Edo State Gubernatorial Election held today. Shaibu expressed his commitment to serving the people of Edo State and working towards the party’s vision of progress and development.
In his statement, Shaibu emphasized the need for unity and collaboration within the political sphere to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of Edo State. He highlighted his dedication to fostering an inclusive government that prioritizes the welfare of its citizens.

“It is a triumphant homecoming for me, as I officially return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party where I am accepted, valued, and welcomed with open arms. The party holds a special place in my heart, and where I have shared countless memories,” Shaibu said.
“It is time to take back our state. We will not talk too much because action will speak for us. We are not afraid. We are ready to move forward.
“We, the homeboys, are ready to take our state back through the APC governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa.” said Shuaibu.
“We are not troublemakers, but if it comes, we will use it to rub our body, and we move on.” He said in a jab at the PDP.
The reinstatement and subsequent move back to the APC come at a crucial time as Edo State gears up for upcoming elections. Political analysts believe Shaibu’s return to the APC could significantly influence the political dynamics in the state, potentially altering the balance of power.
The leadership of the APC in Edo State has warmly welcomed Shaibu back into the party fold. The Chairman expressed confidence that Shaibu’s experience and dedication would be invaluable in achieving the party’s objectives in Edo State.
Shaibu’s rejoining the APC has sparked various reactions from political stakeholders and the public. Some view it as a strategic move that could strengthen the party’s position in the state, while others see it as an opportunity for the Deputy Governor to continue his political career on a solid platform.
