Emirates has announced the resumption of its daily flight service between Dubai and Lagos, Nigeria, starting 1 October 2024. This strategic move aims to enhance connectivity and provide more travel options for passengers traveling from Nigeria’s largest city.
The route will be serviced by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flight EK783 will depart Dubai at 09:45, arriving in Lagos at 15:20. The return flight, EK784, will leave Lagos at 17:30, arriving in Dubai at 05:10 the following day. Tickets are currently available for booking on the Emirates website or through travel agents.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the route’s reinstatement.
“We are excited to resume our services to Nigeria. The Lagos-Dubai service has traditionally been popular with customers in Nigeria and we hope to reconnect leisure and business travelers to Dubai and onwards to our network of over 140 destinations.”
“We thank the Nigerian government for their partnership and support in re-establishing this route and we look forward to welcoming passengers back onboard.”
With this resumption, Emirates will operate flights to 19 destinations across Africa, totaling 157 weekly flights from Dubai. The airline also extends its reach within Africa through partnerships with South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, and Tunis Air.
Lagos, as Nigeria’s commercial center, plays a crucial role in the strong bilateral trade relationship between Nigeria and the UAE. Emirates SkyCargo will support this relationship by offering over 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity weekly, facilitating the export of Nigerian goods like kola nuts and food products, and the import of vital goods such as pharmaceuticals and electronics.
The Emirates Boeing 777-300ER on this route will feature 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats. Passengers can enjoy regionally inspired menus crafted by award-winning chefs, along with a wide selection of premium beverages. The airline’s award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, offers over 6,500 channels, including 23 Nigerian movies.
