In a dramatic turn of events, the Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, amidst allegations of financial misconduct involving ₦43.5 billion. The funds in question were reportedly allocated for the procurement of backup vehicles for lawmakers, a move that has now come under intense scrutiny.

 

The decision to remove Obasa from his position was reached during a plenary session, following mounting pressure and calls for accountability.
