Chief Of Army Staff Hits Ground Running; Deploys Chiefs, Commanders, GOCs and Senior Appointments In Unprecedented Start

The Chief Of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja has it the ground running in a series of appointments that has proven an unprecedented decisive start to his leadership of Nigerian Army.

Apart from the strategic appointments and reshuffling that would realign the Army across formations for optimum efficiency, the move has also rejigged the men in uniform that a proactive General is in the saddle.

The appointments are Major General A.B Ibrahim – Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP), Major General Alabi, General Officers Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army Kaduna, Major General E.A Abubakar, GOC 3 Division Nigerian Army, Jos, Major General Mala, GOC 7 Division, Maiduguri, Major General Chibuisi, Theatre Commander Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai and Major General I. Ali, Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF)

Other appointees are Provost Marshall (Army), Brigadier General Garba, Chief of Military Intelligence, Brigadier General Ugiagbe, Major General Ochai, Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Maina, Commandant Army War College.

Major General Aligbe, Commander Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Major General Oluyede, Commander Infantry Corps and Major General Kange, Corps Commander Artillery.
