Comrade Peter Akpatason a former labour leader where he was the President of NUPENG for two terms of 8 years and currently House Committee chairperson on Civil Society and Development Partners. He would be returning to the National Assembly for the third term .
Akpatason who succeeded the former Majority leader of the House of Representatives Rtd Col. Tunde Akogun of the People’s Democratic Party who lost to him on his bid to seek a re-election into the House of Representatives in 2011 for a third term.

Comrade Peter Akpatason has been described as a record breaker and a man of an exceptional character. He is adored by many amongst whom are mainly youths.
He is said to be humble personality, with an unflinching access.
He has so brought hope to his constituency when he sponsored the bill seeking to establish the School of Geology and Mining in Akoko Edo successfully which now awaits the accent of President Muhammudu Buhari.
We wish to congratulate Comrade Peter Akpatason and wish him all the best as he returns to the National Assembly.
