In a heartfelt message shared on social media, former Senate President Bukola Saraki has announced the passing of his mother, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki.

“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024,” Saraki wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki was a highly respected figure, known for her contributions to her community and her steadfast support of her family’s political endeavors. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Saraki family, one of Nigeria’s most prominent political dynasties.

The late matriarch is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who remember her as a source of strength and wisdom. Her legacy extends beyond her family, touching many lives through her philanthropic efforts and community engagement.

As the family mourns this great loss, they have requested privacy and the continued support of their well-wishers. “Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing,” Saraki added in his announcement.

Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki’s life and contributions will be honored in upcoming ceremonies, with further information to be provided by the family.
