The Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos Sector Command will commence a special patrol code-named ‘Operation Show Your Driver’s Licence’ from Monday, May 20, 2019.

According to Mr. Hyginus Omeje, the Lagos State FRSC Sector Commander, defaulters would have to pay a fine if found culpable.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the FRSC stated that “We are starting our patrol operation by May 20, as we have 64,468 uncollected permanent driver’s licence across the state”

The exercise is to curb the number of drivers plying the roads without having any valid license which qualifies them as drivers. It is also to encourage individuals who have yet to pick up their processed licenses to also go and pick up such.

Defaulters caught during the exercise who could not provide their license within 24 hours would have to pay a fine of N10,000.
