In an unforgettable display of talent and poise, a young boy named Muhammadu Buhari captivated the audience during the recent public presentation of “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesman’s Experience” — a memoir chronicling years of service and insight from the corridors of power.

Held before a distinguished gathering of statesmen, diplomats, media professionals, and members of the public, the young Buhari stood out for his eloquent poetic recital and his uncanny resemblance — in both name and demeanor — to former President Muhammadu Buhari. His stirring performance, marked by articulate diction and a calm confidence that belied his age, became the emotional high point of the event, earning him a standing ovation and spontaneous applause from all present.

In an inspiring and generous follow-up to the remarkable moment, Alhaji Lawal Garba, Chairman and CEO of Trobell Nigeria, has awarded the promising youngster a full educational scholarship, pledging support for his academic journey from primary school through to university.

According to Alhaji Garba, the scholarship package includes:

  • Immediate coverage of the remainder of young Buhari’s primary education;
  • Full payment for six years of secondary schooling at any institution of the family’s choosing, with the family expected to present total cost estimates;
  • And, upon the successful completion of his WAEC examinations, university sponsorship to ensure the continuity of his academic growth.

Describing the gesture as “more than just a scholarship,” observers at the event have hailed it as a powerful affirmation of how talent, when recognized and nurtured, can pave the way for transformational change in the life of a child — and by extension, the nation.

The book’s author expressed heartfelt gratitude to Alhaji Garba, describing the intervention as a noble act of kindness that reflects the very ideals espoused in the book — the power of purpose, mentorship, and nation-building.

“As we reflect on the lessons shared in my book, it is deeply fulfilling to see new stories unfolding — stories like that of young Muhammadu Buhari — stories of potential, inspiration, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow,” he said.

The moment stands as a clarion call to other well-meaning Nigerians to invest in the dreams of children across the country, reaffirming the belief that a single act of generosity can change the course of a lifetime.
