Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, resides in a spectacularly advanced home known as “Xanadu 2.0.” Located in Medina, Washington, this $145 million estate is a marvel of modern technology and opulence, embodying the genius of its owner.

Spanning an impressive 66,000 square feet, the construction of Xanadu 2.0 was no small feat, taking seven years to complete. The mansion serves as Gates’ primary residence and boasts a plethora of cutting-edge features that set it apart from any other home.

One of the most striking aspects of Xanadu 2.0 is its interactive environment. Guests are greeted by walls that function as touchscreens, allowing them to change the artwork displayed with a simple touch. This dynamic feature adds a personalized touch to the already luxurious ambiance of the home.

The estate also features a remarkable 60-foot swimming pool equipped with an underwater music system, allowing swimmers to enjoy their favorite tunes while submerged. Adding to the natural beauty of the property, an artificial stream stocked with fish meanders through the grounds, creating a serene and picturesque landscape.

A testament to Gates’ attention to detail and love for nature is his cherished 40-year-old maple tree. This tree is electronically monitored and watered around the clock, ensuring it remains healthy and vibrant.

Xanadu 2.0 includes a variety of unique recreational spaces, one of the most notable being a trampoline room with a ceiling height of 20 feet, offering a fun and exhilarating experience for residents and guests alike.

Designed as an “earth-sheltered” house, the mansion utilizes its natural surroundings to regulate temperature efficiently, significantly reducing heat loss and energy consumption. This eco-friendly design not only enhances the home’s sustainability but also seamlessly integrates it with the surrounding landscape.

The name “Xanadu,” derived from Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, signifies an opulent and luxurious place, a fitting description for Gates’ personal paradise. Xanadu 2.0 stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and environmental consciousness, making it a true modern marvel.
