The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially commenced its campaign for the forthcoming local government elections in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA with the inauguration of its Campaign Council in Alapere, Lagos, where the party’s chairmanship candidate, Mrs. Adetola Abubakar, pledged to lead as a “Chief Servant” if elected.
Addressing party faithful and stakeholders at the well-attended event, Abubakar reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive governance, pledging to prioritize grassroots engagement, participatory decision-making, and people-centered development.
“I am deeply honored to be part of this transformative journey toward building a greater Agboyi-Ketu,” Abubakar declared. “If elected, I will serve with humility and dedication as a Chief Servant, fostering a government where every opinion counts. We must deepen our connection with the people through innovative campaign strategies that reflect our vision for a progressive, united community.”
Highlighting her collaborative leadership style, the APC flagbearer, who currently serves in the cabinet of the outgoing Chairman, called on campaign council members to contribute fresh, creative ideas that will bolster public engagement and mobilization efforts ahead of the polls.
Echoing her sentiments, the incumbent Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, lauded both Abubakar and her running mate, Hon. Yomi Ganiu, as credible and competent candidates, noting that their current roles in his administration had positioned them as key players in the LCDA’s developmental strides.
“Adetola Abubakar and Yomi Ganiu are not strangers to governance in Agboyi-Ketu; they are part and parcel of our success story,” Oshinowo said. “With their proven records and passion for service, I am confident that they will sustain and surpass the achievements of this administration.”
Oshinowo further projected a resounding victory for the APC at the polls, citing the council’s landmark infrastructural and social development projects as a strong foundation that resonates with the electorate.
“Our performance speaks louder than any campaign slogan. We have touched lives, built critical infrastructure, and managed resources transparently. These are the reasons why residents will return APC candidates in the coming election—and why they will stand by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he asserted.
The outgoing chairman urged the campaign team to promote inclusiveness, encouraging all committed party members and residents to come on board and contribute to the party’s electoral success.
“This is a time for unity, not division. Let’s open our arms to those who share our vision and are ready to work,” Oshinowo said.
Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Alhaji Sunday Odekomaya, emphasized the need for robust grassroots mobilization and internal cohesion, urging members to maintain discipline and unity of purpose throughout the campaign.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with the presentation of official letters of appointment to members of the campaign council, signaling the formal launch of APC’s electioneering activities in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. The event was attended by party leaders, community stakeholders, and enthusiastic supporters who pledged their readiness to work for the party’s victory at the polls.
