The Lagos State Government has resumed extensive rehabilitation works on damaged sections of the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway, covering the stretch from Admiralty Way Junction to Jubilee Bridge in Ajah, as part of its commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing mobility across the Lekki axis.

The ongoing intervention includes desilting of blocked drainage channels to address flooding, milling of failed asphalt surfaces, provision of crushed stone base courses at affected areas, and the laying of new asphaltic wearing courses. Additional works such as lane markings and kerb painting are also being carried out to improve road safety and aesthetics.

The project spans a 15-kilometre dual carriageway with an average width of 12 metres. Remarkably, more than 2.5 kilometres of the Lagos-bound carriageway have been completed in less than two weeks, underscoring the State Government’s resolve to deliver quality infrastructure within record time and in line with high construction standards.
Upon completion, the rehabilitation is expected to restore full lane capacity, significantly improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and provide a smoother, faster commute for millions of motorists and residents who rely on the corridor daily.
To minimise traffic disruption, the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and other relevant agencies, has put in place a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan.
Motorists are therefore advised to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere strictly to all traffic directives throughout the rehabilitation period.
