The yardstick I use to judge Asiwaju’s administration, is the work my local council development area chairman at Ojodu LCDA (Hon Olusegun Odunmbaku) is doing, and he is doing very well in many sectors, by coming up with programs that touches everyone irrespective of class or affiliation.
Benefitting from democratic government most times depends on who your leader is, which caucus you belong to, who you are affiliated with and so on, but DOS is the first politician to declare a valuable program open and it’s for the ordinary people on the streets that has no party affiliation, not attached to any leader, or belonging to a political group, it is unbelievable but it happened, and 200 SMEs are the better for it, hence pulling more citizens out of poverty without asking for worship.
The one week, one tangible project mantra has not only brought unprecedented infrastructural development to the community, but it has also improved the economy of scale of many local business, while supporting many families livelihood.
Finally, there is classism at the corridors of power, where a leader suddenly develop the god complex and require worship, and to make it worse their hangers on, P.As, S.As develop overbloated egos, and trample on the citizens that needs the service of the public office holder, but the team around DOS comprises of brilliant, cerebral, and compassionate professionals, some are even foreign trained graduates in numerate courses but they serve satisfactorily like locals, mirroring the excellence and kindness that DOS exudes, hence DOS is the latter glory that supercedes the former, all hail the man of the year.
