The address of French President Emmanuel Macron to the world about the evil of slavery and colonisation which most European and USA partook in that dark period of human history that has been described as the worst form of man’s inhumanity to man. The French have always had a sense of history. Discerning, ambiguous, and tort with innuendos.
He apologized to people of Africa especially those countries that France was directly involved in dehumanizing and still exploiting those countries and thier people economically for centuries.
According to him, words from his mouth are not enough but actions to show they are sincere and ready to make amends are more important in redressing the issues and those still affected by the effects of colonialism.
This is showing beginning of civilization and France is leading the way as there is no civilization without empathy and respect of humanity which we believe other nations that partook in it should take note and make immediate amends.
Reparation should be swift with no delay but we need nations like France not to leave people of Africa now that they see us as human beings and not animals which should reflect in their relations with Africa.
No amount of apologies and reparation will be enough and sufficient for the suffering of the Black race. The so called super powers should immediately leave Africans to govern themselves according to their culture and beliefs, they should not impose or give any form of advantages to foreign religions and let the Blackman decide the cause of his destiny and history.
Yoruba always say “Ti a ba fun ni leran amanfi okun re si ile ni” (in this case it means Blackman deserve total freedom and not the cosmetic type in existence presently) Africans should be allowed to expressed their independence.
Yes, our present leadership in Africa may be worse than the colonizers but from what Macron of France started, the evil leaders in Africa will change voluntarily or by force as there will be no hiding place for them anywhere in the world, positive development awaits the African continent and the world at large.
