The Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has officially launched the website for the upcoming National Youth Conference, signaling a major step forward in Nigeria’s youth engagement strategy.
Speaking at a press conference held earlier today in Abuja, the Minister unveiled the dedicated digital platform — www.nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng — which will serve as the central hub for information, registration, updates, and interactive participation ahead of the highly anticipated conference scheduled for later this year.
“Today, I officially launched the website for the upcoming National Youth Conference, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to youth engagement and empowerment,” the Minister declared.
The new website, designed to be user-friendly and interactive, is intended to allow young Nigerians across all 360 Federal Constituencies — including those in the diaspora — to seamlessly connect, register, and contribute to the national dialogue on youth development and policy reform.
Highlighting the conference structure, the Minister explained that the entire process will adopt a multi-level participatory model. This will include constituency-level consultations, zonal consolidation meetings, and virtual engagements with Nigerian youths living abroad, culminating in a grand national conference in Abuja.
“The National Youth Conference will be executed through a multi-level participatory process which includes virtual engagements with the diaspora, constituency-level consultations, zonal consolidation meetings, and a culminating national conference in Abuja,” he said.
Mr Olawande also underscored the guiding values of the initiative, stating that transparency, inclusivity, innovation, and mutual respect would form the backbone of the entire process. He urged Nigerian youths to take full ownership of the opportunity to shape their future through meaningful participation.
“I emphasize that the implementation of the conference will be anchored on the principles of transparency, respect, inclusivity, and innovation,” he noted. “I urge every young Nigerian to seize this opportunity to transition into active citizens shaping the Nigeria we all desire.”
In his closing remarks, the Minister expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to youth development, describing the President’s support as instrumental in laying a sustainable foundation for national progress through youth inclusion.
The National Youth Conference is expected to provide a robust platform for policy recommendations, innovation showcases, and nationwide dialogue on critical issues affecting young Nigerians — from education and employment to civic participation and entrepreneurship.
