The ancient town of Oyo was aglow with cultural splendour as traditional rulers, dignitaries, indigenes, and well-wishers from across Nigeria and the diaspora gathered to witness the historic installation of the new monarch. His ascension to the throne as Alàṣẹ Ẹ̀kẹjì Òrìṣà (The Second-in-Command to the Deities) marks the continuation of a revered lineage of leadership, steeped in Yoruba heritage and spiritual authority.

Royal emissaries, cultural custodians, and spiritual leaders all played significant roles in the formal enthronement rituals that date back centuries.
