In the evolving landscape of grassroots administration in Lagos State, Hon. Segun “DOS” Odunmbaku, Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, continues to stand as a model of purposeful, modern, and community-focused leadership. His first term introduced a governance ideology that resonated across the state—the HEYS Agenda—a framework that redefined what local government service delivery could look like.

Now, with his HEYS RELOADED vision powering his second term, Odunmbaku has taken the template further, broadening its reach, deepening its impact and elevating Ojodu LCDA as one of Lagos’ most forward-thinking grassroots administrations. His first 100 Days in Office have become a compelling display of inclusive, measurable and people-centered governance.

The Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has marked his 100 Days in Office with a renewed wave of activities and community-focused programmes that have drawn commendation from residents, stakeholders and civic groups across the district.

From his inaugural address, Odunmbaku made one thing unmistakably clear: governance must not only be done for the people, but with the people.

“Governance must be visible. Governance must be measurable. Governance must be felt,” he declared before a crowd of political leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, artisans, professionals, and market clusters who gathered for his 100 Days celebration.

The Chairman emphasized that these early achievements were not a victory lap but a report of stewardship—a demonstration of accountability and a reaffirmation of shared ownership of the Ojodu development story.

Widely regarded for his results-driven leadership style, Hon. Odunmbaku has, within this short period, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering governance that is practical, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of the people. His administration has implemented a series of impactful initiatives that cut across social welfare, healthcare, community infrastructure, youth development, and economic empowerment.

One of the standout achievements is the rollout of free fuel vouchers for commercial transport operators, a first-of-its-kind intervention aimed at cushioning the effects of rising fuel costs on both drivers and commuters. The Chairman personally joined officials at the fuel station to supervise the distribution, a gesture that residents described as evidence of a hands-on and compassionate leadership style.

In the area of healthcare, the administration introduced a weekly geriatric outreach programme across all wards, with Ward E recently hosting medical consultations, physiotherapy services, nursing care, ambulance support, and free essential drugs for elderly residents. This initiative has been hailed as a major step toward bringing healthcare closer to the doorstep of the aged and vulnerable.

On infrastructure, the council has intensified preparatory works for the construction of two major link bridges connecting Adeniyi Oke to Adeshina Street, and Lisabi Street to CMCM, aimed at easing traffic flow and improving inter-community mobility between Akiode and Oke Ira. Residents say the project underscores the Chairman’s long-term vision for a more connected and accessible Ojodu.

The Chairman also strengthened grassroots engagement through sports development, highlighted by the ongoing DOS Mega Football Cup Final, which has energized youth participation and fostered community unity. Welfare programmes, environmental interventions, and empowerment schemes have also featured prominently in the 100-day achievements.

As the celebration continues, many residents and community leaders have described Hon. Segun Odunmbaku’s first 100 Days as a promising foundation for a more prosperous and inclusive Ojodu. They note that his administration has not only delivered visible projects but has also rekindled public confidence in local governance by prioritizing the people above all else.

With these strides, the Chairman is widely seen as setting a new benchmark for effective and people-centered administration in Ojodu LCDA.

Hon. Segun Odunmbaku’s first 100 days are more than a milestone—they are a manifesto in action. With HEYS RELOADED propelling a new era of inclusive, measurable and people-centered governance, Ojodu LCDA stands as a benchmark for what grassroots leadership can achieve when the people are placed at the heart of development.

If this is the beginning, the next four years promise to be transformational.
