Chairman Of Ojodu LCDA, Hon Segun Odunmbaku hosted Eko Destination, a tourism organisation that is at the forefront of packaging, showcasing and marketing tourism sites, destinations and events in Lagos State at the council secretariat in Oke Ira Ogba.
The tourism organisation led by Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon,
MD/CEO, Eko Destination Ltd and Eko Tourism Online Radio and Dr. Temidayo Peters, Head of Operation & Business Development had been prompted to visit the Mayor because of the Chairman’s vision and plan to kickstart world class cultural and tourism activities like the forthcoming Ojodu carnival that is a novelty and would be the first ever event of such mode and magnitude in history of the community.
Hon. Segun Odunmbaku in company of the Council Manager, Engineer Dele Abayomi and the tourism officer of the council, Mrs Ebunoluwa Esther Eka said in an interview with the tourism organisation’s media platform that was interestingly conducted in pidgin that his administration is poised to not just make Ojodu LCDA which is the gateway local government for those accessing Lagos from other states the investment destination of choice but to also make it the preferred tourism destination in Lagos State.
He said that the forthcoming Ojodu carnival coming up on the 17th December, 2022 with rave artistes billed to perform while planned family hangouts with recreational and cultural activities that would herald a turning point in annals of Ojodu while he also added that his administration’s social and infrastructural development part of the H.E.Y.S Agenda is to create the enabling environment towards making Ojodu LCDA an attractive tourism destination.
The Mayor also used the opportunity to invite members of the public to the forthcoming carnival which his administration has billed for access to be free while promising to collaborate with organisations like Eko Destination in making Ojodu LCDA a tourism hub by establishing a museum, arcade and other exhibitionist platforms to showcase cultural heritage and activities in Ojodu for the benefits of residents and tourists which would also spur socioeconomic development through the hospitality sector in Ojodu LCDA and environs.
