The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has formally presented the proposed budget for the year 2025 to the Legislative Council at the Council Chamber. The budget, themed “People-Centered Budget: Combating Inflation and Empowering Communities,” underscores the administration’s commitment to addressing economic challenges while uplifting local communities.
The presentation, chaired by Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, Leader of the Legislative Council, was attended by key stakeholders, including council executives, traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives from various interest groups. This event fulfilled the constitutional requirement to involve legislative input in fiscal planning, ensuring the budget aligns with the needs of Ojodu LCDA residents.
Hon. Odunmbaku highlighted the N6.596 billion budget, emphasizing his administration’s focus on the four-point H.E.Y.S agenda—Health, Education, Youth and Women Empowerment, and Social and Infrastructural Development. He outlined plans to upgrade health centers, empower vulnerable groups, enhance security through vehicle procurement for the police, and optimize revenue collection to expand the fiscal capacity.
Hon. Opeyemi Apatira commended the Chairman’s people-focused leadership and the strong collaboration between the Executive and Legislative arms, which has improved governance efficiency. He also acknowledged Engr. Bunmi Akintoye, the Council Manager, for her significant contributions to staff welfare and operational excellence.
The session, which was attended by dignitaries such as the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, and APC LGA Chair, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, concluded on an optimistic note, with stakeholders expressing confidence in the administration’s vision for 2025.
