Ooni to Unveil NGO for Civic Orientation, Inclusive Governance

The Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has concluded plans to unveil a non-governmental organization with the name; Ooni Ojaja Development Initiative.

According to details, the Ooni Ojaja Development Initiative is a project of the Ooni structured to address the gap between government and the governed, enhance more youth and women’s participation in processes leading to governance and make the government more acceptable to the masses among others.

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, the non-governmental organization is committed to enhancing local communities and life of Nigerians across Nigeria through Safe and Inclusive civic participation, advocacy campaigns, evidence based research, capacity building and stakeholder engagements

The organization is prepared to achieve the duties stated above by enhancing Nigerians access to information, providing enabling structures and implementing sustainable initiatives.

The Ooni has appointed Dr. Olushola Aluko Okpodu as the Director General to head the NGO – a  Veteran Newscaster and ex staff of AIT Network Service.  Renowned Media & Development Communication Expert with 25 years experience.  She had a stint as Head of Prorgammes and Presentation with RayPower FM, before  she delved into the International development sector as a Senior National / Regional Consultant with Oxford Policy Management United Kingdom, on Oil Sector Transparency and Reforms, the United Nations,  Government Parastatals and Foreign Media.
