The 1660 delegates that would elect the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the December 13 governorship primary of the party have emerged.

The five delegates per 332 wards in the state were elected in the Congress held on Tuesday across the state.

Announcing the results of the Congress at the party state secretariat in Osogbo on Tuesday evening, the Chairman, 2025 Osun State APC gubernatorial Congress Delegate Committee, Shehu Dange, commended the participants for ensuring peace during the exercise.

I am happy to announce to you that at the end of the collation of the ward Congress to elect delegates, a total of 1660 delegates were elected.
Those delegates will be responsible for the primary election of the party; they are the delegates to elect the candidate of the party, the APC. At this point, I want to appreciate all those who participated in this exercise, Dange said.

He added, “By the grace of God, we are able to deliver by coming out with delegates in all the wards without any issue. We were able to elect 5 delegates in all 332 wards who will be responsible for electing the candidate for our party.
He urged APC members in the state to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

They should ensure unity and harmony beyond the primaries. With that, we will be able to support Mr President in his Renewed Hope Agenda in creating a better Nigeria, with a stable democracy and a very strong party which is the greatest party in Africa which is the APC,he said.

Ex Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority, Bola Oyebamiji, and ex lawmaker representing Ifelodun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Mulikat Abiola have been cleared by the national leadership of the party for the Saturday’s primary.

Seven other aspirants were however disqualified by the committee.

Those disqualified include; Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senator Jide Omoworare, ex Deputy chairman Governor, Benedict Alabi, Mr. Dotun Babayemi, Mr. Kunle Adegoke (SAN), Mr Hareter Oralusi and Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi.
