Chief Jasper Ndubuaku, the Chairman of the Committee on Recovery of Missing Government Movable Property in Imo State has said that ex-Governor Rochas Okorachas’ officials made away with state government’s property worth N50 Billion Naira.

Chief Jasper made this disclosure while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo state capital during the week.

He said “We went from ministry to ministry and house to house and discovered to our dismay, that officials of the immediate past administration of Rochas Okorocha looted all property in their possession including chairs, spoons and other cutleries among others.”

He further disclosed that already the committee had recovered 279 Prado SUVs, 27 pay-loaders and 27 lorries, all of which belonged to the state government and which the previous officials had gone away with.

The committee chairman made a further appeal to anyone still having government’s property with them to return them, else further proactive action will be taken to recover the items.

He said “If after this appeal and they still remain adamant, we will be compelled to unleash the dragon, mobilise all concerned Imo indigenes to assist us to recover these missing items and if the worst comes, we will criminalise the matter”.
