Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the Chairman of National Caretaker Committee of Peoples Democratic Party has issued a stern warning to party members that the PDP would no longer tolerate any acts of indiscipline from them.

Sen. Makarfi gave this warning during the inauguration of the Caretaker Committee for PDP’s Anambra Chapter in Abuja. He said such acts of indiscipline will attract immediate and stiff sanctions as soon as noticed.

Makarfi said “It is no longer going to be business as usual. What we are saying is that any future act of indiscipline will be immediately dealt with, with appropriate measure. We have noticed that and I assure you that without any delay we will take appropriate measure. The Constitution of PDP has stipulated how indiscipline should be addressed.”

Speaking further, he said “Anybody that transgresses and thinks he can act the way he wants will be dealt with. We will no longer allow the party to be abused”

On the new caretaker committee for Anambra, Sen. Makarfi said the inauguration was important since all other parallel executive committees in the state had been disolved. The new committee would also help the PDP to strategise properly for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Hence, he asked the committee to work effectively towards ensuring a smooth running of the affairs of the party in the state.

He said “The committee is also to ensure discipline of members in accordance with party’s Constitution to deal with anti-party activities that shall hinder the successful prosecution of the Anambra gubernatorial election,’’ he said.

The new caretaker committee is to be headed by Prof. ABC Nwosu as Chairman while Mrs Josephine Anenih serves as its Secretary.
