In a significant diplomatic visit, President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria touched down at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday. This visit precedes the highly anticipated 6th Mid-Year Coordinating Meeting of the African Union (AU), set to commence on Sunday.

Upon his arrival, President Tinubu was greeted with a warm reception from a delegation of Nigerian officials. Leading the welcome party was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, who underscored the importance of Nigeria’s participation in the AU meeting. Alongside him was the Charge D’Affairs of the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, Ambassador Dayo Adeoye, who expressed optimism about the outcomes of the forthcoming discussions.

The 6th Mid-Year Coordinating Meeting of the AU is a crucial event that brings together heads of state, ministers, and key stakeholders from across the continent to deliberate on pressing issues affecting Africa. The agenda includes discussions on economic integration, peace and security, and sustainable development.

President Tinubu’s presence at the meeting highlights Nigeria’s commitment to playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the African continent. His participation is expected to bolster Nigeria’s diplomatic ties with other African nations and reinforce the country’s leadership position within the AU.

As the meeting gets underway, the African community looks forward to productive deliberations that will pave the way for greater unity, cooperation, and progress across the continent.
