The leadership of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference was hosted, on behalf of the Presidency, by Dr Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, at the Villa Conference Room, Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, Nigeria, on April 25th, 2025.
The high-level global delegation was led by Ambassador Joseph Kolawole Adebola, Esq., MNIM, MCICN, Chairman of Renewed Hope United Kingdom and Chief Host of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference. He was accompanied by Hon. Nick Apata, Chairman of Renewed Hope Canada; Prof. Ali Alao, a globally recognised cybersecurity expert, and Dr Alistair Soyode, CEO of BEN TV UK and official Renewed Hope platform media partner.
The visit was part of ongoing high-level engagements aimed at reinforcing national development through inclusive dialogue, Diaspora collaboration, and grassroots-oriented solutions aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
In his remarks, Amb. Adebola commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON, and Dr. Zauro for their strategic roles in shaping policies that promote financial access, social inclusion, and economic equity. He described the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference as a civic innovation platform that brings Nigerians at home and abroad into weekly dialogue on governance and national policy direction.
“We are encouraged by the tireless efforts of this administration to close economic gaps and empower citizens through inclusive initiatives. Nigerians in the Diaspora remain committed to supporting reforms that lift communities and restore hope,” Adebola stated.
Hon. Nick Apata applauded Dr. Zauro’s leadership in ensuring that marginalised populations, especially in rural areas, are not left behind in the national financial ecosystem. He stated, “What we see in your work is a deliberate effort to connect the forgotten population to the heart of governance. That is commendable, and we are proud to stand with you in this journey.”
Prof. Ali Alao also praised the government’s commitment to digital transformation and secure access to financial services. “Digital infrastructure is key to inclusion, and I am impressed by the data-driven approach to solving economic exclusion. It aligns with global best practices and offers great hope for scalability and impact,” he said.
Dr. Alistair Soyode, Chief Executive Officer of BEN TV UK, presented a dynamic media strategy aimed at amplifying the administration’s message through diverse channels to reach every corner of the country. He offered to leverage his platform’s wide-reaching influence to ensure the plan’s successful execution, pending approval.
Responding on behalf of the Presidency, Dr. Zauro expressed appreciation for the team’s attendance and acknowledged the growing relevance of platforms like the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference. He emphasised that economic and financial inclusion remains central to the President’s vision and pledged the Presidency’s continued cooperation with civil society and Diaspora stakeholders.
He emphasised that meaningful change can only be achieved through collaboration, announcing the establishment of a technical committee to advance the resolutions discussed during the meeting. Additionally, he commended the Renewed Hope team for effectively harnessing technology to unite voices across diverse geographies in pursuit of shared national objectives.
