Acclaimed Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has proclaimed his wife, Jumobi Adegbesan, as the best wife in the world during an interview on the ‘Teju Baby Face Show’ aired on Sunday.
Reflecting on his journey after the tragic loss of his first wife, RMD expressed profound gratitude and admiration for Jumobi, highlighting her unwavering support and strength. “Jumobi has been the rock of my being,” RMD stated. “She is the reason I can go out there and succeed, knowing she is always behind me.”
RMD candidly shared that transitioning after his first wife’s death was a daunting experience, one he thought he might never overcome. He emphasized that Jumobi played a pivotal role in helping him navigate through the pain, serving as his ultimate source of strength and stability.
“Despite the challenges and my own missteps, she has stood by me unwaveringly,” he continued. “I’ve done some crazy things, but she understands I’m a work in progress. Her unwavering support has been a cornerstone of our partnership.”
RMD also recounted moments of doubt and hesitation before marrying Jumobi, fearing her kindness was too good to be true. “I was afraid to marry her because she was so nice. I constantly worried she might change after marriage,” he remarked. Yet, Jumobi’s steadfast commitment, even during RMD’s lowest points, fortified his resolve and sense of responsibility.
Their relationship, RMD noted, has always been a partnership based on mutual respect and responsibility. “If you don’t give your partner a reason to feel part of the union, it can create rifts. I always strive to be the man she deserves,” he said.
In a touching gesture, RMD recalled the moment he made the biggest financial gain of his career and decided to deposit the entire amount into Jumobi’s account as a testament to her invaluable role in his success. “This is the person who made it all possible,” he declared.
This public declaration is not the first time RMD has expressed his deep appreciation for Jumobi. In 2021, he praised her for sacrificing her own career to support their marriage, celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary with heartfelt gratitude.
