The spokesman for The Mogajis in Ibadan, Chief Wale Oladoja has asked the Oyo State government to stop inviting the Ibadan High Chiefs to functions where the Olubadan has also been invited to.

It will be recalled that the immediate past administration in Oyo State had previously elevated some High Chiefs to Kingship status, a step which many decried.

Chief Oladoja described the presence of the High Chiefs at the same event as the Olubadan as an insult to the office of the Olubadan.

He said, “We want to inform the general public and the government of Oyo State to stop inviting the Ibadan High chiefs to any function they know Olubadan will be attending as the only foremost ruler of the city.

“We cannot tolerate further insults on our father, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji. We resist situation where the high chiefs will be insulting Olubadan, either through their actions or speeches. Olubadan is a respected monarch and a decent father, there should be no reason for passing insult on him.
