Sangotedo Housing Scheme: Sanwoolu Promised Speedy Completion

Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor cautioned contractors handling the Sangotedo phase-two housing project, to ensure an appreciable improvement in the level of works in the next one week or have their contracts terminated.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who stated this during an inspection tour of Sangotedo Housing Project in Lagos on Friday, directed the contractors handling the phase two project, which consisted of 444 (four hundred and forty four) flats, to make appreciable improvement.

The governor added that the project would be inspected in the next one week to see the level of works after which recalcitrant contractors would have their contracts revoked and prosecuted.

Sanwo-Olu, who said the Sangotedo Housing project was in two phases and the first phase was about 90 per cent completed, gave contractors handling the second phase, which consisted of 444 flats, a directive that he wants it completed within nine months.

The governor commended contractors who had shown resilience and commitment, as well as the level works on the Phase One, consisting of 744, adding that it would be completed within six weeks by the end of November

Sanwo-Olu also urged the contractors to complete the Sangotedo Homes on time in order to be able to hand it over to beneficiaries.

Present at the inspection were Commissioners for Housing, Fatai Akinderu; Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako, Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye, Permanent Secretary Housing, Wasiu Akerwusola among others.
