 Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has been recognized as the “Governor of the Year” and the recipient of the prestigious “Game Changer Award” at an event organized by THISDAY Newspaper and ARISE TV. The awards were presented during a grand ceremony held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of THISDAY and the 12th anniversary of ARISE TV in Lagos.

The event, which brought together dignitaries from various sectors, celebrated Governor Sanwo-Olu’s exemplary leadership and transformative impact on Lagos State. The “Game Changer Award” particularly acknowledged his innovative governance approach and his commitment to driving sustainable development across the state.

While receiving the awards, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for the recognition, attributing the achievement to the collective efforts of his administration and the unwavering support of Lagosians.

He said, “I deeply appreciate THISDAY and ARISE TV for these awards, which are a testament to the progress we are making in Lagos State. This recognition inspires me to continue working harder and more strategically for the good of Lagosians. Together, we will achieve even greater milestones for our dear state.”

The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to build on its successes and deliver even more impactful projects and initiatives that align with the “Greater Lagos” vision.

The award ceremony highlighted Governor Sanwo-Olu’s contributions to Lagos, including improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and transportation. His leadership during critical moments, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and his dedication to fostering economic growth and innovation were also spotlighted.

The event, held in Lagos, drew applause for its recognition of outstanding leadership and journalistic excellence, setting a high standard for impactful contributions to society.
