Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, today hosted fellow Governors of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) in Lagos, where far-reaching discussions were held on national security, economic stability and citizen welfare.

The high-level engagement, attended by APC governors from across the federation, provided a strategic platform for reviewing ongoing national reforms and aligning state-level governance priorities with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the deliberations focused primarily on strengthening security coordination nationwide. He reiterated the Forum’s support for President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reinforce security architecture and deepen intelligence-led policing. According to him, ensuring safety of lives and property remains the foremost responsibility of government at all levels.
“We collectively reaffirmed our commitment to improving security, enhancing collaboration among security agencies and expanding community-based interventions where citizens play active roles,” he said.
On economic matters, the Forum reviewed the current cost-of-living concerns faced by Nigerians amid macroeconomic reforms designed to stabilise the country and encourage long-term growth. Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the sacrifices Nigerians are enduring and commended their resilience.
He disclosed that all Progressive Governors agreed to intensify support in critical areas, including increased food production, expansion of small and medium-scale businesses, youth employment initiatives and targeted assistance to vulnerable households.
“We are deepening relief measures to protect our people while reforms continue to take effect,” he noted.
The meeting also reaffirmed loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and commitment to delivering tangible results across states in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the shared focus going forward is to continue improving lives, strengthening collaboration and building a safer, more prosperous and inclusive nation.

He thanked his colleagues for their visit and expressed optimism that decisions reached at the meeting will translate into measurable benefits for citizens nationwide.
