SANWO-OLU SYMPATHISES WITH K1 OVER MOTHER’S DEATH

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has extended heartfelt condolences to Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, on the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe.

Alhaja Anifowoshe, the matriarch of the family, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the remarkable age of 105, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering support for her family.

 

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu described the centenarian’s death as a significant loss, not just to K1 and his family, but also to the wider community in Ijebu-Ode. He urged the family, friends, and associates to celebrate her impactful life while taking solace in her peaceful transition.

 

The Governor stated:

“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I extend my deepest sympathies to the Nigerian Fuji legend, K1 De Ultimate, on the loss of his beloved mother, Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe.

 

“I also express my condolences to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the entire Ijebu-Ode community. Alhaja Anifowoshe was more than a mother to K1; she was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration. Her prayers, encouragement, and steadfast support undoubtedly played a vital role in shaping her son’s illustrious career as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music icons.”

 

The Governor further acknowledged her fulfilled life, noting that her longevity allowed her to witness the success of her children and the accomplishments of her grandchildren.

 

“It is no doubt that Mama lived a fulfilled life at the age of 105. She witnessed the remarkable achievements of her children and grandchildren, which is a testament to her prayers and dedication as a mother. While her passing brings sadness, it is also an opportunity to reflect on a life well-lived.

 

“May God comfort King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the entire family, and all those she left behind. May the Almighty Allah grant the soul of Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe eternal rest in Aljanah Firdaus.”

 

The Lagos State Governor’s tribute underscored the late Alhaja Anifowoshe’s enduring influence as a matriarch who lived a life of purpose, leaving an indelible mark on her family and community.
