Focus on Infrastructure, Health, Tourism and Transportation Sector
In a bid to bolster economic growth and attract significant investments to Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will host over 200 distinguished investors from around the globe at the Pre-Summit Investors’ Roundtable. This high-profile event is set to take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2024, at 10 AM at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island. The gathering precedes the much-anticipated third Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS 3.0).
Themed “Opportunity MADE in LAGOS,” the roundtable aims to spotlight high-impact and investable projects across various key sectors including health, art, culture, creative economy, technology, agriculture, infrastructure, transportation, and telecommunications. The event’s format will include comprehensive investment presentations, interactive Q&A sessions, roundtable discussions, and dedicated deal rooms for investors prepared to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and partnership agreements with the Lagos State government.
Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment, expressed optimism about the event’s potential to foster significant partnerships. “By showcasing ongoing investment opportunities and fostering collaborations, the Pre-Summit Investor Roundtable will not only contribute to the success of ASIS 3.0 but also support Lagos State’s vision of becoming a vibrant hub for social impact investment in Africa,” she remarked.
She emphasized the event’s role in promoting the ‘Invest in Lagos’ brand, positioning Lagos as a prime destination for foreign direct investment. The focus will be on high-profile projects such as the Lekki-Epe International Airport, the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Lagos Blue Rail Phase V, Omu Creek, the Lagos Food Systems Hub, and the KITE Programme.
Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, highlighted the practical focus of this year’s roundtable. “This edition of the Investors’ Roundtable is not another talk-shop, but a bespoke gathering dedicated to investors who are ready to make investment decisions immediately. We have done many conferences and workshops, but this is the moment of decision for discerning investors,” he stated.
The event will bring together a diverse array of local and international investors, policymakers, and business leaders, providing a platform to explore investment opportunities and drive sustainable growth in Lagos State. Through this strategic engagement, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration aims to create a lasting positive social impact and accelerate the state’s development agenda.
