Lagos State has taken another decisive step toward modernizing governance and improving service delivery with the official launch of the Electronic Physical Planning Process System (ePPPS)—a cutting-edge digital platform designed to overhaul land administration and physical planning procedures across the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who performed the launch on Tuesday, described the innovation as a transformational milestone that positions Lagos as a leader in technology-driven urban management. He noted that as Nigeria’s most populous and rapidly expanding state, Lagos can no longer rely on outdated manual procedures that slow down development and create room for inefficiency.

According to the Governor, the new system will significantly streamline building and planning applications, making the entire process faster, more transparent, and less susceptible to human interference. By digitizing documentation, approvals, and monitoring, the state will also gain access to richer, real-time data essential for shaping a safer, more coordinated, and future-ready Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu revealed that the government has already equipped planning officers with modern digital tools and training to ensure a smooth transition to the new regime. He emphasized that the initiative aligns squarely with the administration’s THEMES+ Agenda, particularly its drive to enhance public sector efficiency through technology and innovation. It also supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision of a government that is responsive, efficient, and digitally enabled.

The Governor urged developers, industry professionals, and residents to embrace the new platform, noting that its successful adoption will improve service delivery, reduce delays, curb malpractices, and ultimately contribute to a more organised, resilient, and investor-friendly Lagos.

“With this system, we are not just improving processes; we are building a Lagos that works better for everyone,” Sanwo-Olu stated, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to continuous innovation in urban governance.
