Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has called on residents of the state to extend their trademark warmth and hospitality to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, as she arrives on her maiden official visit to the Centre of Excellence.

The First Lady is expected to arrive in Lagos today, where she will embark on a series of impactful engagements aimed at empowering women and advancing economic opportunities. On Saturday, Senator Tinubu will distribute empowerment items to no fewer than 1,000 women at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja — a gesture the Governor described as a beacon of hope for vulnerable groups.
As part of her itinerary, the First Lady will also commission the Lagos Industrial Leather Hub in Matori, Mushin, which has been described as West Africa’s largest leather hub. The facility is expected to create jobs, boost local production, and further solidify Lagos as a hub of innovation and enterprise.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu lauded Senator Tinubu’s dedication to promoting national unity, enhancing the welfare of women and children, and strengthening social development initiatives.
“We are proud of Her Excellency’s initiatives, which will undoubtedly bring smiles to the faces of our people. This visit underscores her unwavering commitment to the empowerment of women, promotion of family values, and inclusive development — principles that align with our administration’s vision for a greater Lagos,” the Governor said.
The Governor also expressed confidence that the First Lady’s visit would reinforce Lagos’s role as a leader in championing social welfare, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in Nigeria.
