Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has appointed Mr Owolabi Jamiu Falana as a Permanent Board Member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Mr Falana, announcing the appointment through his social media pages said “On many levels, I have had to reflect on the import of this new assignment and I am humbled on every turn. As one of the youngest ever to be appointed to the Board, the sheer weight of faith reposed in me and expectations held of my generation are not lost on me.”
He further said “I am a proud Lagosian and a product of public education in Lagos State. For all of the modest milestones I may have reached, I am aware of the centrality of the quality of primary and secondary education I received. I had my primary and secondary education at New City Primary School (Mushin, Lagos) and Ansar Ud Deen Model College, Isolo (before it was returned back to the missionaries), respectively.”
“I’m grateful to the many who played significant roles in those phases – my parents for their choices, and my teachers, for their dedication.”
The appointee said he would like to extend his profound gratitude to Mr. Governor for the faith in him by the appointment, and more importantly, for the disposition of Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu’s administration to quality education, which is a major element of his THEMES Agenda. And that the successes recorded in this regard are not far-fetched. The state continues to record gains with Eko EXCEL – a digital education revolution as well as massive reconstruction of public schools, a testament to visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence.
He concluded the statement by saying “The work is not fully done, yet. I look forward to contributing value on this new assignment. And I hope to count on your support and prayers.
The work has begun.”
Owolabi Jamiu Falana is alumni of KNURE in Ukraine and recently earned a Masters Of Public Management from Babcock University.
