Umar Imam Resigns As Speaker of Kogi House of Assembly

Reports indicate that the Umar Imam the Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker has resigned his position. He is said to have resigned from his position on Tuesday August 1, in order to prevent his impeachment.

The Kogi State House of Assembly had on the same Tuesday witnessed a serious disturbance with some thugs invading the assembly complex and unleashing violence on the members of the House of Assembly. One of the members, Elder Friday Sani was beaten up and his clothes torn by the rampaging thugs.
