Reports indicate that some selected governors some of whom are members of the opposition party, PDP are to visit President Muhammadu Buhari in London. This visit is reportedly being facilitated by the office of the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Munguno (retd.)

The selected governors were chosen from the six geo-political zones of the country. Those listed to visit the President include Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo). The two other governors who are to complete the list of six will be representatives from the North-East and North-Central.

However, complaints have arisen from some who have complained that the selected governors were chosen without due consultations from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF). The expectation is that at least one governor who has been particularly critical of President Muhammadu Buhari, such as Governor Fayose of Ekiti state or his Rivers state counterpart, Governor Nyesom Wike ought to have been on the list of selected governors.

Those selected are viewed to be those with some form of affinity with the President who is currently in London receiving medical treatment for an as yet undisclosed ailment.
