The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to embark on a significant official visit to Lagos, where he will commission a series of transformative infrastructural projects delivered by the State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The highly anticipated visit underscores the Federal Government’s recognition of Lagos State’s sustained commitment to urban renewal, economic growth and infrastructural advancement.
Among the flagship projects slated for commissioning is the iconic Opebi–Mende–Ojota Link Bridge, a strategic transport infrastructure designed to significantly ease traffic congestion across key corridors including Opebi, Allen, Maryland and Ojota. The bridge is expected to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time for thousands of daily commuters navigating the state’s busiest districts.

Also on the list is the newly completed Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building in Alausa. The facility represents a major leap toward digitizing land administration in the state, with capabilities to streamline title registration processes, improve transparency and foster a more efficient and investor-friendly property market.

In further strengthening institutional capacity, the President will inaugurate the Lagos State Multi-Agency Complex, a modern multi-storey development comprising four blocks within the State Secretariat. Built on a 2.01-hectare site, the complex is designed to accommodate additional government parastatals, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and inter-agency collaboration.

The visit will also spotlight Lagos State’s commitment to food security and agricultural value chain development with the commissioning of the Mid-Level Agro-Food Hub located in Abijo along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Situated on a 23,000 square metre expanse, the facility boasts state-of-the-art cold and dry storage systems, ample parking space and expansive trading areas aimed at improving food distribution and reducing post-harvest losses.

In the education sector, President Tinubu will commission the fully regenerated Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle. The comprehensive upgrade spans 36 public schools, 31 secondary and five primary institutions which included the construction of new classroom blocks, ICT laboratories, improved road access and modern sporting facilities, marking a significant investment in the future of education within the community.

Complementing youth and sports development initiatives, the President is also expected to inaugurate the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle. The facility features 19 mini football pitches and is strategically positioned to nurture grassroots sports talent in one of the state’s most densely populated areas.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to attract top government officials, traditional rulers and key stakeholders from across the country, further reinforcing Lagos State’s position as a hub of innovation and infrastructural excellence in Nigeria.
This visit not only highlights the synergy between the Federal and State Governments but also reflects a shared vision of sustainable development between the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and the THEMES+ Agenda of the Babajide Sanwoolu administration to improved quality of life for L.
