Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, in Abuja, has declared that there would no longer be a petroleum subsidy in his regime. He stated this during his inaugural address at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
“Subsidy is gone” Tinubu emphasized while speaking at Eagle Square, after he was sworn in as the 16th President of Nigeria. He said there was no provision for subsidy in the national budget from June 2023 and, therefore, it stands removed.
Tinubu, on Monday 29th of May 2023, in Abuja, has disclosed that his administration targets minimum GDP growth of six per cent annually. He also promised to boost foreign direct investment by reviewing all complaints about multiple taxes.
“To our foreign investors, our government will review all complaints about multiple taxations. All businesses will be allowed to repatriate hard-earned profits back home,” he noted.
