The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved a step closer towards qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia next year after holding the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to a 1 – 1 draw in Yaounde.

Moses Simon put Nigeria ahead on 30 minutes while substitute Vincent Aboubakar for the Indomitable Lions scored a 75th-minute penalty at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo to level scores.

The Super Eagles had previously whipped the Indomitable Lions 4 goals to nil at Uyo on September 1, 2017 before the 1 – 1 draw played out between both teams at Yaounde on Sunday.

The draw consolidates the Super Eagles’ position as leaders in Group B with their total points now equals to 10 points while Zambia the second placed team currently has just 4 points
