The UK is a Multicultural, Multi Ethnic & Multi Religious Society much like Nigeria. Today 20% of its Population are Ethnic Minorities Cohesion, Continuity, Tradition & Modernity were all Encapsulated in the 1,000 year Ceremony of Coronation of the King.
UK has many Turmoils of Racism, Discrimination & Marginalisation Encumbered with the Legacy of a Crown & Nation Built on Empire, Conquest & Slavery, yet it benefits from a Cohesive Progressive and Vibrant Society A Great feat of Good Governance and how to manage Diversity despite all its Challenges.
The Coronation of an English Monarch the head of the UK & Common wealth Territories was Full of Diversity & Inclusivity. Embracing it’s different Nationalities and Ethnicities. Ministers of all the Major Faiths including Islam, Judism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism & various Christian Denominations played Prominent roles in the Ceremony.
They all hailed the King in Unison as the Defender of all the Faith, the King also being the Head of the Church of England without Contradiction. The Crown & UK State is Based on a Christian Protestant Foundation but all Embracing of other Faiths without Favour. Todsy the UK people are less religious and fewer see themselves as Christians.
Today the Political Head of Scotland is a Muslim the Mayor of London is a Muslim and the Prime Minister is a Hindu but it has not Fractured the State. In the just Concluded Locall Govt Elections the Incumbant Conservative Central Govt was Roundly Trounced at the Polls. Many saw this as a Litmus Test for Richie Sunak and an Eye Opener as to what may likely happen at the Next General.Elections.
Richie Sunak has never been Elected into Office by the UK Public and in all likelihood is unlikely to win the next General Elections. His Ethnicity, the State of the Economy including Continued Cost of Living Crises will all be Factors against his Victory.
The State Occassion was a Magnificent, Grand well Organised & Choreographed Occassion of Splendour, Pomp & Pageantry everything working in time like Clockwork all Bands and Musisians in Tune & in sink. There was Order, Decorum & Discipline amongst all the Military Ranks who put up a Spectacular Military Parade, Display, Procession & Flight Past in the Rain, which included Officers from 44 Commonwealth Countries s Sight to Behold.
As the British Hail _Long Live the King_, how many will Wish our New President Long Live President Tinubu. Many who insisted Buhari will not Complete his First term have Departed, others remaining will Live to see him Hand over to another APC President on May 29th their Worst Nightmare.
As with the Coronation that saw a small minority Demonstrating Publically with Placards saying Not my King & Down with the Monarchy, we may see similar Protests on May 29th. I hope NPF will Marshall them with Restraint. So long as it is Civil, Orderly and Non Violent it will not detract from the Main event _a Celebration of our Democracy that most will uphold regardless of the Real & Perceived Flaws of the 2023 Gen Elections.
