Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged the state’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, expressing readiness to mobilise grassroots support ahead of the presidential election.

Aiyedatiwa made the pledge on Tuesday when members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, led by Chief Kestin Pondi, visited him in his office.

Pondi represented the movement’s convener and Director-General, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo. The visit followed the inauguration of the movement and the unveiling of 26 campaign vehicles for grassroots mobilisation across Ondo State’s 26 constituencies.

The governor commended the movement for expanding its operations beyond Delta State, the convener’s home state, to all 36 states of the federation.

He said the door-to-door campaign strategy could help address voter apathy by increasing public awareness of Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of election day.

“As someone who is also a grassroots politician, door-to-door campaigning has a way of making people aware of what is happening, and on election day they will come out because the name of Mr President will not be new to them,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also credited the Federal Government’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, with contributing to his administration’s ability to execute infrastructure projects through increased allocations to states.

He stressed that national development should extend beyond Abuja to all 36 states, adding that Ondo State had welcomed support groups working towards Tinubu’s re-election.

Earlier, Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, said the 26 vehicles would facilitate the movement’s campaign across homes, churches, mosques, markets and creeks in the state.

He said the movement aimed to educate residents on why they should vote for Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

Pondi also challenged members of the movement to secure more than one million votes for the President in Ondo State.

The Ondo State APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, said the party had established structures capable of mobilising substantial support for Tinubu.

He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and campaigning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
