The pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in South Africa, Engr. Bola Babarinde, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi, for his humanitarian and youths empowerment initiatives in the country.

Babarinde, in a statement on Sunday in Lagos, noted that Seyi Tinubu’s efforts at putting smiles on the faces of the youth deserved recognition.

The APC chieftain noted that he had been monitoring Seyi Tinubu’s exploits in the last two years in areas of youths empowerment and humanitarian intervention to victims of natural disasters across the country.

According to him, it is apt, wise and imperative to recognise and encourage Seyi Tinubu’s grand plan to support more young people with robust empowerment initiatives.

“Seyi Tinubu’s efforts have renewed hope for the hopeless and supported young people across Nigeria.

“He has undoubtedly built a bridge connecting the older and younger generations of Nigeria.

“Having shown capacity and leadership, given the responsibilities at his disposal presently, he will certainly do more when given a bigger responsibility,” the APC chieftain stated.

Babarinde, who was the Deputy Director of the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat Campaign Council, Diaspora Directorate in 2023 governorship election, said Seyi was certainly one to watch in the years to come.

He said despite being the heir apparent to the Tinubu dynasty, Seyi was keen to carve his own path and leave a lasting legacy.

According to the APC chieftain, Seyi has a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Nigerian society with his dedication and perseverance.

Babarinde, while rolling out Seyi Tinubu’s academic records, career and entrepreneurial ventures, said that the President’s son was ambitious, compassionate and large-hearted.

According to him, the President’s son is the founder of the Noella Foundation, an umbrella organisation for the Seyi Tinubu Empowerment Programme (STEP), which focuses on youth empowerment, job creation and skill development.

“Seyi is a philanthropist who is committed to giving back to his community, so his efforts are geared towards youth empowerment, education and poverty alleviation.

“He has been involved in various initiatives, including the coordination of youths for the 2023 election and providing support to vulnerable members of society.

“Seyi’s dedication to philanthropy has earned him recognition, including the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Leadership Excellence Awards in 2017.

“Seyi is not the only son of the previous presidents since 1999, to be involved in politics, however, none of them has been so visible in government activities like him,” Babarinde said.

He also noted that despite Seyi’s achievements, he had faced criticism and controversy.

“Some have accused him of abusing his privileges as the son of the President, alleging that taxpayer money was allocated for his operations.

“However, Seyi’s supporters argue that he is a smart and capable individual who is making a positive impact in his own right.

“Despite facing criticism and controversy, Seyi remains committed to his philanthropic efforts and entrepreneurial ventures,” the APC chieftain said.
